Welcome!

"Why is it that all men who are outstanding in the arts are melancholic?" -Aristotle

Throughout the ages, artists have been gifted with the creative talent to rock and shape this world for the better. They are the movement and heartbeat of humanity. But at what cost? Unfortunately, this "stroke of genuis" presents a dark side...

Research has discovered that artists experience two to three times the rate of psychosis, suicide attempts, mood disorders, and substance abuse than did comparably successful people in business, science, and public life...

Mission:
The Alithia Project, a private counseling practice, was created to meet this need:

To help raise awareness for artists who struggle with mental illness & provide resources for recovery.
